A Season of Giving: Community Events and Holiday Challenge
Oct 31, 2024
In this holiday-ready episode of the Waukee Talkee Podcast, we’re making the transition from Halloween to the heartwarming festivities of the winter season. Jamie Thompson kicks things off in What's Up Waukee, bidding farewell to spooky season and ushering in the excitement of Christmas. With Santa’s arrival on the horizon, Jamie shares the upcoming events and gatherings that will bring holiday cheer to the Waukee community.
Next, we’re thrilled to premiere Waukee WORKS, a new segment with Jessica Taylor Fink, President and CEO of the Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce. Jessica provides a recap of last month’s events, gives a sneak peek into upcoming programs, and highlights new Chamber members, showcasing the initiatives that support Waukee’s growing business community.
To close the episode, Melissa Stimple and AJ Hanson from Waukee Christian Services announce their annual “Share Your Holiday Blessings” campaign, an initiative designed to support families in need during the holiday season. In collaboration with Waukee Talkee, the campaign includes a Facebook challenge: if each follower donates just $1, we’ll raise over $16,000 to provide Thanksgiving meals to local families in need. Host Leisa Fox shares the goal of the campaign and encourages listeners to participate and spread the word. To donate, click here.
